What’s the goal of your website? That’s a question I ask every potential website client. While answers may vary from “I just want my website to look better”, “I want my website to perform better”, “I want a better website platform”, etc, one answer is nearly unanimous when it comes to websites. What is it?
Who doesn’t want more leads, right? Even if you’re at capacity, wouldn’t it be nice to be selective about how you utilize your resources? Focus on more profitable business? Of course it would!
So how does it happen? Why do some companies consistently appear at the top of Google searches, while your company is nowhere to be found? The short answer is it didn’t happen by accident. Those companies are either investing in Search Engine Optimization, or doing the SEO work themselves.
Let’s borrow from Search Engine Land in answering this question. SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” In simple terms, it means the process of improving your site to increase its visibility when people search for products or services related to your business in Google, Bing, and other search engines.
Through hard work and understanding how search engines think, they have earned the trust of Google, Bing and Yahoo by showing them they are leaders in their space.
What could SEO mean for my business? Let’s take one example of a manufacturing company we’ve been working with for 2 ½ years. What started with a website build turned into a conversation about website leads.
“What kind of lead activity are you seeing from your website?”…or in some cases “Have you EVER had a lead come in from your website?”.
In this case, the answer to the 2nd question was “no”. Zero website leads. If you look at the graph, you can see why.
They were invisible.
From the years 2012 to 2020 they had an average of zero to eight keywords ranking at any given time.
When we put our SEO strategy in place for them, we went to work.
Fast forward to today, they are ranking for over 600 keywords, and showing up in markets across the USA.
Even better, the value of this visibility is worth in excess of $6,000/month (based on Google AdWords values).
Talk about a game changer!
The great news, is you can get there too! With a bit of research and elbow grease there are SEO strategies you can put into place on your own. Here are six of them:
Of course, there are a myriad of SEO companies out there that can go to work for you, including HyperX Design!
